This movie I would not totally put in the scary movie categories but I will give it the typical plot award.

A group of 9 people participate in a reality show, while a rejected participant from a previous show traps them in his own sick version of the show, the challenges are strange and weird and death is surly the goal to win.

It stars Jamie Pressley as the first victim, who rejected the rejectee and caused him to create his own deathly reality show, where as the second victim was the chosen gentlemen.

The movie moved rather slowly at times for my taste, but killings started in the first 15min with not much acting involved. Did show typical concept of reality show hook ups and the good, bad and the ugly.

I did get thrown off, when I thought I figured out who was going to save the day, but she got killed off; visuals were good, acting not bad for this type of movie. It did keep my attention.

Not a whole lot of blood in this movie, but a lot of jumping going on. Thinking they were eating a cow, when all the time it was one of there participants insides, I felt was bloody enough.

Typical sex scene, not really getting all the way, one guy trying to hook up with everybody. The usually local police visiting the home a few times, and getting sent away and the deputy getting killed

I can say it did have some comedic moments, as the Asian participant was kicked off as she was getting away she release a warm fluid. Not knowing who was doing the killing but, at times the producer was talking to others at he house, while those who were kicked off were killed, he had a big dopey retarded brother, who was the limo driver, which he is blamed for the killing and the true mastermind gets away to taunt the last victim a year later.

This movie was not something to go all out and buy or rent, but it had its moments.
Rating would be a C-

My love for the old classic movies is what sparked me to take a look at this zombie classic. “Night of the living Dead” by George Romero, I am sure this is the first of its kind, the start of the zombie movie genre.” There coming to get you Barbara”.

Being that I am not able to compare this zombie movie to the movies of today, because it is the first of its kind, at that time they did not have such extensive computer generated equipment, so I will take it for what it is worth.

Plot the dead has arisen and is walking the earth, attacking and cannibalizing anyone who comes in there path, which the movie does not waste time getting to the point, the first zombie comes out in a cemetery and attacks a brother and sister, which the sister gets away, the brother is knocked out and turns into a zombies dressed in not tattered and torn clothes but some are fully dressed. Many scenes are dark, the music plays a very important role in intensifying the fears, I think that was a way that they made the movies seem scary during that time.

What did surprise many was the lead part was played by a black man; this was one of the worries of some that putting a black man in the lead it would not get such a good response but that did not matter, the movie was a hit and did not take away from the concept of the zombie plot.

Acting was acting for that era, but today I would have said the acting sucked. The scenes of zombies eating legs and arms as if they were chicken bones, would have been truly gross today, it had a fair amount of blood, but because it was black and white was hard to tell.

Film quality was foggy, but clear, sound good.
The final scene as the posse went around killing the zombies, kind looked liked they were preparing for a lynching and the head man as usually black rim glasses and smoking cigs with a black suit and shot gun.

If you want to get in to checking out some classics I do recommend this.

30 Days of Night
The story of an isolated Alaskan town in Barrow, Alaska, every winter the town is plunged into a 30 day darkness each year, the sun sinks below the horizon. As the sun fades many travel to other places until the 30 days is done and some stay. The town is visited by a stranger and a large ship in the ocean. The first signs of trouble the local sheriff played by Eben (Josh Harnet) and his deputy Billy find all the towns cell phones burned up in the snow, the local sled dogs where all slaughtered. The sheriff’s wife (Melissa George), has plans to leave but has a accident on the way to the last plane that is leaving before the darkness comes, so she is stuck there for the next 30 days.
The movie did move at a moderate-fast pace, not just waiting for some action. The stranger is in local diner causing trouble and arrested, the stranger frightens the sheriff, as he is continuing saying “they are coming and the locals will be dead” The sheriff discovers the town is under attack by a gang of blood thirsty vampires. The vampires cut off all local communication to the outside, the main line phones, the computers and the power grids as they were truly plunged into darkness. The communication is cut; the sheriff goes to cell tower to find the decapitated head of the operator on a post out side. He truly realizes now that the small town is in major trouble. He sees the small group of town people and tell them to return to there homes and turn the generators on and sit with the shot guns, and those who do not have generators meet at the diner.
The Vampires began there violent rage of each towns person, slicing there faces, slitting their necks, and eating there flesh. The vampires’ communication is not English, it is a language of their own, so it is subtitled, I had to rewind to truly understand the communication and what and why they were there, and honestly I still did not.  The vampires continue the killing of all the towns’ people, the camera aerial view of the town, as the slaughter continues was a good view. Through out the movie the vampires had blood on there a face that was uniformed; I want to say that it became frozen on their faces because it never changed form.
The lifting of the SUV by the vampires was a good visual effect. The brutal taunting and killing of a woman whom the vampires used to possible force out the other survivors who were hiding in a homes attack was a little extreme for me I could understand them doing a man like this, but a woman. The woman was used to force out the others in hiding to save her, but it did not work. The Vampire attack continued for a total of 29 days, the final fight, the sheriff in order to save the few that were left, shot himself up with blood to infect him, he believes they are unable to fight them off with what they have, so he becomes a vampire, kills the leader by punching him through the face with his fist, as the others disappear, the sheriff and his wife realize that the sun is coming up, and this the way he will die, he and his wife are sitting on the horizon embracing, and the sun peaks out he begins to burn in her arms.
This movie was based on a horror-comic book series that at one point presented as a movie but was rejected. The success of the comic book, sparked the movie and it was a 30 million budget, which it gross 75 million in the theaters.
The movie released a sequel which went straight to DVD 30 days of night: Dark days.
Plot was good, continual blood and quick scenes as the vampires strike, made you jump a little, the acting was good and intense, visuals I enjoyed, except at times as they were fighting in a group it became dark to see, what was going on. I do recommend the flick, and be weary of watching at night alone as I did, I became a little jumpy. But it was all good.

Recomendation A must see.

Grindhouse presents
DEATH PROOF
Quentin Tarantino

This movie is not really considered “Horror” but because it was attached as a double feature with Planet Terror I had to view it along with it and my biggest turn on was that it was by “Quentin Tarantino”.

A classic “Grindhouse triple feature. This movie can be logged and tag under Psycho Stalker section. I can say it offers beautiful women, exciting, jaw dropping, and adrenaline rushing car chases and crashes, sexy lap dance scene, comedy and a reasonable amount of blood and gore, explicit language as a classic Quentin Tarantino movie would offer. The film is a classic exploitation film of the genre of the 1970s, not sure what was wrong with people, it did not do good in at the box office, but made up for it on DVD,.I personally loved the movie at the theater and as soon as it came out on DVD I purchased it for whatever price. I loved this movie.

Social-pathic stunt man/ serial killer “Stuntman Mike”(Kirk Russell), stalks young women before murdering them in staged care crashes in his “Death Proof Car”.

1# Three friends: Arlene(Vanessa Ferlilo), Shanna(Jordon Ladd)-daughter of Cherly Ladd of the original Charlie’s Angels, which she is the spiting image of her mom. Local Radio DJ Jungle Julia” (Sydney .T. Poitier)-daughter of the well know actor Sydney Poitier.
The ladies out for a birthday celebration for JJ doing a little bar crawling and a visit to the lake house later. The girls unaware they are being stalked by non other than Stunt Man Mike(Kirk Russell). Unknowing earlier JJ made an announcement that Arlene will give the gentleman a lap dance if you address her as butterfly and by her a drink and receit a poem. Stunt man Mike follows the instructions on the radio to get the lap dance.

Arlene remembers she saw stuntman Mike earlier while they were visiting the local convenience store.

We can’t forget Pam(Rose McGown) as a high school friend, who excepts a ride home from stuntman mike and becomes his first victim.

Remember the Stuntman Mikes car is “Death Proof”.

As the group of women embark on a journey along the dark highway while listen to music and banging their heads, stuntman Mike comes upon them and speeds pass to get ahead and turns around facing them, lights off, revving the engine and speeds toward them head on, and just as he comes closer turns lights on and crashes into them. The multiple camera views of each girls untimely death  is fascinating filming.

Stuntman Mike survives?  Continues is killing spree.

#2. Jumping a year later, SMM finds four more potential victims.

Four woman Lee Montgomery (Mary Winstead) Abernathy Ross(Rosario Dawson), Kim(Tracie Thomas) and real stuntwoman (Zoe Bell who plays herself
Traveling to Tennessee, stopping at convenience store not noticing Stuntman Mike and his new ride a 1969 Dodge Charger, who is intrigued by the woman.

Long story short Stuntman Mike meets his match with these women. Exciting adrenaline rush, heart bounding high speed chase and a ending that every bad ass Bitch would love.

“You’ll love it”

Recommendation: A+ must see

PLANET TERROR

Awesome-kick ass-action-packed movie, it offers everything you are looking for in a move. Sex-violence-gore-comedy-bloody-gross-zombies-you name it, it is in it.

The movie starts off with a seductive dance scene featuring Cherry (Rose McGown), not sure if she is a stripper or just a dancer (Go-Go). Classic cut off your balls when you screw up scene.

The movie involves a group of people who notice zombies are taking over their little town-they must work together and fight to get out.
The group is filled with very interesting characters- sleazy club owner, stripper with one leg-which is soon turned in to a machine gun. Lesbian doctor and her psycho husband, Crazy babysitters, Angry Sheriff and his brother the owner of the JT Bone Shack eating BBQ sauce as a meal, not sharing his secret recipe.
A felon known as L-Ray (Freddy Rodriguez), who takes charge with the classic gun tricks scene.
A manic army Captain (Bruce Willis) stating he killed Bin Laden in Iraq, out to purchase a bio chemical agent, from a Iranian scientist-business first science second. The chemical is released into the air that sets of a chain of events creating flesh-eating zombies.

Each character has their own unique story-line and all end up in JT Bone shack
Have to mention the scene with “Quentin T”, where he removes his mask and starts to inhale the gas, while trying to rape Cherry and his penis/ball fall off, and he explodes.

All that is going on it does not take away from the zombie plot, it just adds, good strong acting. In a B movie classic form and with a few veteran actors to top it off, and a cameo appearance by an entertainer-who did very well in there small scene.
New/old age B movie classic.

The B movie trailer of Machete, which was awesome and action packed.

Recommendation: A+ Must see
